Azure Point
Malta
Azure Point is a mixed use development fanning around a 17th century coastal tower, consisting of a 250-room hotel, 20 beach villas, 130 apartments, dozens of shops and a myriad of community services including a bocci pitch and chapel rising from the the ancient salt-pans.
This proposal is set on a pjazza that surrounds the fort, entirely elevated from the ground to ensure unobstructed views of the sea, while an ensemble of public spaces are experienced around its blue vistas.
The architectural language is inspired by the military architecture of the fort, while recycled limestone rescued from the previous hotel, is to be used in the construction.
